Beta

Last updated: 12 June 2026

Vacator is an early-access (beta) travel-planning tool. We try to collect as little as possible — there are no user accounts, and we never ask for your name, address, or payment details. This page explains what we do handle and why.

1. Who we are

Vacator is an independent beta project that turns a short description of your trip into pre-filled search links for third-party travel sites (Skyscanner, Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and Vrbo). We do not sell flights or hotels ourselves.

Questions about this policy? Reach us via the help & feedback page.

2. This is a beta

The product is under active development. Features may change, break, or disappear, and this policy may be updated as the service evolves. We will always post the current version on this page.

3. What we collect

Your trip description. The text you type into the chat is processed to extract travel parameters (destination, dates, travellers, budget, preferences).

Anonymous usage analytics. We record minimal, non-identifying events — which provider links are opened, the rough shape of a trip (e.g. destination city, number of nights and travellers), and an approximate country derived from your network connection. These are aggregate metrics, not a profile of you.

Your email — only if you ask for it. If you use “Email me these links”, you give us your email address for the sole purpose of sending you that one message. We do not store it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

What we do NOT collect: no account, no name, no password, and no payment information — we don't have a checkout.

4. How we use it

To turn your request into pre-filled search links, your trip description is sent to OpenAI's API, which extracts the structured travel parameters. We use the anonymous analytics only to understand which features are useful and to improve the product. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data.

5. Third parties

OpenAI processes your trip description to extract parameters, under its own terms and privacy policy.

The search links we generate point to Skyscanner, Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and Vrbo. Once you click through, you are on their site and subject to their terms and privacy policies. Some outbound links may be affiliate links (see our Terms).

If you use “Email me these links”, your email address is passed to our email delivery provider (Resend) solely to send that one message, under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Cookies & local storage

We store a few small preferences in your browser's local storage — your language, your theme (light/dark), and the details of the trip you're currently planning — so the app works smoothly. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this at any time from your browser settings.

7. Data retention

Your trip description is processed to generate links and is not stored as a personal record by us. Analytics are kept in aggregate form and contain no information that identifies you.

8. Your choices

You can clear the app's stored preferences any time by clearing your browser's site data. If you have any questions about data we may hold, contact us at the address below and we'll help.

9. Changes to this policy

As Vacator grows out of beta, this policy may change. Material updates will be reflected here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
